Illinois' No Cash Bail 'Spits in the Face' of Crime Victims

With Illinois poised to become the first state in the country to eliminate cash bail, critics in law enforcement fear that Prairie State families will soon be "unwilling lab rats" in a "dastardly experiment."

The Illinois Supreme Court ruled 5-2 that a provision of the state's "SAFE-T Act," which ends cash bail, is constitutional and can go into effect on Sept. 18.
