Critics are blasting the media’s double standard of praising the coronavirus response of liberal governors like New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, while attacking the performance of Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, a state with a large elderly population but a remarkably low fatality rate compared to many others.
Cuomo’s status as a media darling has been inescapable, as reflected in an April poll that showed him to be Democrats’ No. 1 choice to be their presidential nominee over former Vice President Joe Biden, by a 56 percent to 44 percent margin.
