James Oberg, the only U.S. rocket scientist to ever inspect the secretive Sohae satellite-launch facility in the Hermit Kingdom of North Korea, says the intense skepticism and criticism that have greeted President Trump’s negotiations with dictator Kim Jong Un have "everything to do with domestic politics.”

A space-flight engineer who worked for NASA for 22 years, Oberg is considered an expert on the Russian, Chinese, and North Korean space-launch programs.
