To boost voter turnout among millennials and older Generation Z-ers, campaign strategists have come up with creative ways to reach these voters in a place where they spend most of their time — the internet. Their efforts appear to be paying off as voters under 30 are breaking records casting ballots in multiple key states ahead of Election Day.
From dedicated TikTok accounts to Instagram live videos, it is hard to log onto social media and avoid the onslaught of political outreach from campaigns on both sides of the political aisle. Campaign consultants say this is all done by design in an effort to capture votes from a voter bloc that traditionally doesn’t show up on Election Day.
