Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., told Newsmax the nation should be worried about Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings.
Burchett's comments Thursday on "Wake Up America" came after a former Twitter executive admitted that the New York Post's October 2020 story about information found on Hunter Biden's laptop did not violate any of the social media platform's policies.
Yoel Roth, Twitter's former head of the Trust and Safety Council, was among three former company executives appearing before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee on Wednesday.
The panel is probing censorship of conservative content and Twitter's decision, in the weeks before the 2020 election, initially to block a Post article about the contents of a laptop belonging to Biden, son of President Joe Biden.
Burchett, asked by Newsmax about Roth's comments, said: "It's kind of like a bank robber getting caught as he walks out of the bank and says, I'm sorry. Here, you can have the money back. We're all good, right?"
Burchett added: "We're not good. They censored things. They continuously did that. They repeatedly did that. An ayatollah said some horrible antisemitic things about Israel and Jewish folks. And yet he stayed on [Twitter] and they took President [Donald] Trump off completely."
Asked if he believes the Hunter Biden story matters at this point, Buchett said: "I don't know. But the country ought to be paying attention. Hunter Biden was working a crime syndicate, basically.
"And he was involving the president, then-vice president of the United States. Ten percent for the 'big guy.' This is paying just like in the mob. Everybody gets their cut. And that's exactly what they're doing. People ought to worry.
"It's very evident what's going on: We have a White House that's been compromised."
