Two of the Trump campaign's former top soldiers say the Democrats are responsible for pushing the "collusion with Russia" scenario, but predict the president's ex-campaign chief Paul Manafort, who had ties to Russia, will be "going to jail for a long time."

The remarks by Corey Lewandowski, who was replaced by Manafort, and David Bossie, who was Trump's deputy campaign manager, came during a Palm Beach Republican Club event to promote their book, "Let Trump Be Trump: The Inside Story of His Rise to the Presidency."

"This was an outrageous political scandal attack machine by the Democrats," Bossie told The Palm Beach Daily News, insisting he never saw evidence of collusion during Trump's campaign against Democrat Hillary Clinton. "That's all this is about."

Manafort, who left the campaign in August 2016 as questions swirled over his business dealings with Ukraine and who has been indicted by special counsel Robert Mueller on money laundering charges, is a "bad dude," Lewandowski said.

He also referred to Manafort as "the guy in the orange jumpsuit…He’ll be on TV soon going to jail for a long time — long time."
