Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, holds a five-point lead over Donald Trump with voters who are likely to cast a ballot, according to
Rasmussen Reports.
In the survey of 1,000 likely voters, conducted June 14 and 15:
- 44 percent of likely voters prefer Hillary Clinton.
- 39 percent of likely voters prefer Donald Trump.
- 14 percent of likely voters still prefer some other candidate.
- 4 percent of likely voters are still undecided.
The poll asked voters to take their beliefs about the Orlando gay nightclub massacre into consideration. Each candidate shows a strong lead among voters, based on one two opinions on the root issue behind the attacks.
- 64 percent of those who consider the Orlando massacre a terrorist attack favor Trump.
- 16 percent of those who consider the Orlando massacre a terrorist attack favor Clinton.
As for the likely voters who consider the massacre a gun control issue:
- 83 percent of those voters favor Clinton.
- 4 percent of those voters favor Trump.
More Democrats are now siding with Hillary Clinton, while Trump’s numbers with Republicans have not changed.
- 83 percent of Democrats favor Hillary Clinton, up from 73 percent in the last poll.
- 73 percent of Republicans favor Donald Trump, the same as the last Rasmussen poll.
Among voters who don’t identify as Democrat or Republican, Clinton leads Trump 36 percent to 31 percent, although 34 percent of those voters like someone else or have not made a decision.
In other Rasmussen poll results, 15 percent more women voters like Clinton than Trump, while 6 percent more male voters prefer Trump over Clinton.
