Donald Trump says the only thing he can do to combat his falling poll numbers is to "do what I'm doing."

In an interview Wednesday on Fox News Channel's "On the Record with Greta van Susteren," Trump said his numbers are likely to see an upswing now that people see him tougher than Democrat Hillary Clinton on terrorism.

Trump said he also is "much tougher on the military and much tougher on the borders."

The presumptive GOP presidential nominee noted he has never run for political office before and said, "I'm just going to continue to do what I'm doing and we'll see how it all turns out."

Clinton, he said, doesn't have the right temperament and would be a "disaster" as president.

"If people want her, I guess that's going to be their choice," he said.
