Georgia Republican congressional candidate Clayton Fuller told Newsmax on Thursday he is ready to be a "fighter on Capitol Hill for President [Donald] Trump" as he campaigns for the House seat previously held by former Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who resigned earlier this year.
Appearing on Newsmax's "National Report," Fuller said voters in Georgia's 14th Congressional District want a strong supporter of the president representing them in Washington.
"Voters in Georgia 14 wanted to find a fighter for President Trump on Capitol Hill," he said. "And that's certainly what I brought to this race."
Fuller advanced Tuesday after finishing near the top of a crowded special primary field with more than a dozen Republican candidates, which split the vote and prevented anyone from winning outright.
He will now face Democrat Sean Harris in an April 7 runoff to fill the seat Greene vacated in early January.
Fuller said his campaign has been firmly aligned with Trump's agenda since the president returned to office in January 2025.
"We're 100% pro-Trump," he said. "We're fully supportive of what he's done since coming into office in January 2025 and inheriting an absolute mess from the Biden administration."
Fuller said his record and message helped earn him Trump's endorsement in the race to replace Greene.
"Combined with my experience in being that fighter on Capitol Hill for President Trump, we think that's why he endorsed our campaign," he said.
The Republican candidate said his focus now is winning the runoff and bringing that support for Trump's agenda to Washington.
"We're looking forward to getting up there and winning this thing in the runoff," Fuller said, "and being up there and fighting for the good people of northwest Georgia, for President Trump."
He also weighed in on tensions in the Middle East and voiced support for Trump's actions regarding Iran.
"We're fully supportive of the work that President Trump is doing in the region," Fuller said.
The lieutenant colonel in the Air National Guard noted that he deployed to the Middle East in 2020 and has seen the threat posed by the Iranian regime firsthand.
"This is a regime that has killed or maimed thousands of Americans since 1979 and has sown chaos in the region," he said.
Fuller argued that Trump's strategy is aimed at restoring long-term stability.
"What President Trump has done is long term is going to bring peace to the region, peace to the world," he said.
Fuller also urged Republicans to unite ahead of next month's runoff.
"The time for unity is now," he said. "The time for us to coalesce and come together and support President Trump and send a fighter to Capitol Hill."
