Over 1,700 Infected Doctors, Nurses Slow China's Virus Response

China’s healthcare system plunged into further chaos Friday as it was revealed 1,716 of its physicians and medical staffers have been infected with the rapidly-spreading Covid-19 coronavirus.

Zeng Yixin, vice director of China’s National Health Commission, told reporters that six of 1,716 medical workers have died so far. He added that officials are “highly concerned” about the surprisingly high number of sick doctors.
