Top U.S. military leaders are warning the long-feared Chinese invasion of Taiwan could soon be reality, as the Communist country grows increasingly brazen in its military posture and aggressive rhetoric regarding the island nation.

Head of the U.S. Pacific Fleet Adm. John Aquilino — President Joe Biden’s pick to lead the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command — told the Senate Armed Services Committee last week that Beijing considers the annexation of Taiwan its "No. 1 priority" and the "most dangerous" current concern in the Pacific is a Chinese attack on Taiwan.
