John Aquilino — President Joe Biden’s pick to lead the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command — told the Senate Armed Services Committee last week that Beijing considers the annexation of Taiwan its "No. 1 priority" and the "most dangerous" current concern in the Pacific is a Chinese attack on Taiwan.
