It's been a long road, but a truck driver advocacy group is happy to see authorities cracking down on shoddy Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training programs and state policies.
Minimal behind-the-wheel instruction and low-quality training turned some programs into "CDL mills" that undermine safety on America's highways, said Andrew Poliakoff, executive director of the Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA).
