Coronavirus Could Push Gorillas Into Extinction, Experts Warn

Humanity is not the only species at risk to coronavirus. It turns out COVID-19 is a major threat to world's population of great apes, the closest living relative to human beings, dozens of top scientists have warned.

Those species include gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees, and bonobos, the 27 experts say in a letter published this week in the environmental journal Nature.
