In one of the most tightly contested elections in recent Dutch history, the Netherlands again demonstrated that coalition politics — long its political norm — remains its strength and its curse.
The centrist-liberal D66 party, led by Rob Jetten, narrowly edged Geert Wilders' Party for Freedom (PVV) by a margin of about 28,000 votes, according to final results announced last month by the Dutch news agency ANP.
