Rev. Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan's Purse, told Newsmax on Wednesday that a new 757 jet will double the organization's cargo capacity, allowing more aid to be shipped for crisis responses.
"It just doubles our capacity — allows us to take more quicker," he said during an appearance on "The Record Wth Greta Van Susteren." "Several times, we've had to make multiple trips with the DC-8 to get everything we need. By having the 757, we could just take more, and when there's a crisis, of course, we want to be there quickly."
According to Samaritan's's Purse, the Federal Aviation Administration approved the 757 for flight in August. Since then, it has traveled to Maui, Hawaii, where it "airlifted more than 24 tons of relief supplies and personnel in the aftermath of deadly wildfires on the island," the organization said.
