President-elect Joe Biden is a man with a very leftist immigration agenda.
With buzzwords like modernization, mitigate, reaffirm, establish and welcome, the Biden immigration plan is to open borders, the likes of which no other country would consider.
Biden's immigration gyrations mean open borders.
As to the question of "immigration," Biden at times is very precise, and at other times very vague or mind-lapsing. Immigration is one area where he lapses, and lapses seriously, but his handlers keep him on the leftist path.
Prior to November 3, 2020, President-elect Biden made many promises or declarations about immigration that are now under realistic review by his administration for an enlarged "welcome" sign.
Biden said he wants to rip up Trump immigration agreements and programs. This is consistent with his campaign immigration rhetoric — but, "maybe not for 6 months" as he now muses.
Biden wants to modernize America with the concepts that children of illegal aliens residing in the country should be granted legal citizenship, illegal aliens should have access to government subsidized healthcare and sanctuary cities and states should receive federal funding.
Biden wants to mitigate the thinking that all immigrants who commit serious crimes should be deported or that immigrants should be required to learn English or that borders do mean something.
Biden's vocal reaffirmation of lenient asylum and refugee policies have little regard for citizen concerns about his immigration policies.
The under-publicized pending onslaught of migrant caravans from Central America is a happening Biden and the news media want hidden.
From merely a health point of view, untold numbers of undocumented migrants flooding the Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California borders may have a negative impact on his public relations perspective and an actual negative health consequence.
Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) also known as "Remain in Mexico" program is President Trump's concept that asylum-seekers wait outside the country while their asylum claims are adjudicated.
According to immigration advocates, Trump's MPP program is forcing Non-Mexican migrants/asylum-seekers to spend many months, even years waiting in Mexico. Biden will cancel MPP with open-borders executive orders.
In an interview with Spanish network, EFE, Biden's incoming national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, was critical of the Trump MMP policy and called it "a disaster from the start and that it has led to a humanitarian crisis in northern Mexico."
Sullivan added the Biden administration "will restore due process protections and begin processing those asylum-seekers who were enrolled into the program in a fair, safe and orderly manner" — open-borders.
The immigration open-borders proponents portray all migrants as persons having a "credible claim of well-founded fear of persecution in their homeland," and thus, legitimate asylum-seekers. This is pure open-borders propaganda. About 90% to 95% of the illegal aliens are economic migrants.
Best estimates are that only about 5% to 10% of asylum-seekers have been adjudicated and granted asylum in the United States each year.
Under 8 USC section 1158, there must be a well-founded fear of persecution because of race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular social group for asylum.
Deplorable business and living conditions are not grounds for asylum as most claim. Records demonstrate most asylum-seekers lack any required "well-founded fear."
Susan Rice, Biden's choice to head his Domestic Policy Council, has been quoted as saying that the situation along the Southern border will not be transformed overnight due to the damage of the last four years. But, she plans to address the problem.
This leaves most observers to believe the Biden immigration policy is definitely an "open-border" policy — which is the radical Democrat position, actually the leftist/socialist position.
According to a New York Post story of December 22, President-elect Biden said, he would slowly reform U.S. immigration policies to avoid triggering a rush of 2 million people on our border.
Biden indicated his team "is nervous" about increasing numbers of immigrants, including children, being detained at the border since his November victory. He further suggested that he was not going to stop illegal aliens access to asylum claims. According to the Post, he promises expansive amnesty legislation and scrapping Trump's amnesty regulations and orders.
Biden will expand asylum and refugee qualifications and speed-up adjudications. He will raise the number of refugees to more than 100,000, probably 125,000 admitted each year. He promises to a 100-day moratorium on deportations, which means: no deportations even after the alien is released from jail.
He will restore Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA.) DACA means amnesty for uncertain numbers, at least several million of illegal aliens, with no exact number known, who came into the country as children.
"Biden said he won't immediately make good on his immigration promises because "it's a matter of setting up the guardrails," — New York Post.
Since November 4, Biden waffles on all immigration promises and representations.
What will Biden's immigration gyrations mean to the average American?
Trouble!
