Anthony Scaramucci, the one-time White House communications director, has resigned from the Board of Advisors at Tufts University's Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, The Boston Globe reported.
"This morning, Anthony Scaramucci informed the Fletcher school that he is resigning his position on the school's Board of Advisors, effective immediately," Admiral James Stavridis, dean of the school, said in a statement.
"We thank Mr. Scaramucci for his past service to Tufts and wish him well."
Word of his resignation also came from Daniel Drezner, a professor at the Fletcher school, in a Tuesday morning tweet:
Drezner had written a column for The Washington Post on Monday noting that more than 300 students and faculty members at Tufts were asking Scaramucci be removed from the board. They claimed his advice is not worthy "of our institution," Drezner said in the column.
And he added: "A Fletcher administrator and Scaramucci confirmed to me that since being appointed (in 2016), he has neither attended an advisory board meeting nor given a single dollar to the school (he has previously donated high six figures to Tufts).
Tufts had postponed an event this week featuring Scaramucci after he threatened to file a lawsuit against a student and the school newspaper for a column criticizing him, the Globe reported.
