Bachmann Brings $3.6M into Next Phase

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Republican Michele Bachmann says she has $3.6 million in the bank as her presidential campaign enters its next phase.

Figures supplied to The Associated Press showed her available cash after fundraising and money transfers from her congressional campaign fund.

Bachmann says she collected checks from 88,000 donors over the last few months.

Small donors are a hallmark of Bachmann's fundraising efforts, rather than contributors who give the maximum. Bachmann recently brought aboard staff to focus on the big-dollar donors.

Bachmann has been toward the front of the pack in polls of early states and nationally.
