Prominent Republicans Blame Dem Rhetoric for Assassination Attempt

By    |   Sunday, 14 July 2024 06:49 PM EDT

Some prominent Republicans are blaming rhetoric by Democrats and liberals for the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

Newsmax gathered reactions from social media platform X:

  • "Congressman Scalise, Justice Kavanaugh, and now President Trump. For years, Democrats and their allies in the media have recklessly stoked fears, calling President Trump and other conservatives threats to democracy. Their inflammatory rhetoric puts lives at risk." @SenatorTimScott

  • "For weeks Democrat leaders have been fueling ludicrous hysteria that Donald Trump winning re-election would be the end of democracy in America. Clearly we've seen far left lunatics act on violent rhetoric in the past. This incendiary rhetoric must stop." @SteveScalise

  • "We are in a battle between GOOD and EVIL The Democrats are the party of pedophiles, murdering the innocent unborn, violence, and bloody, meaningless, endless wars. They want to lock up their political opponents, and terrorize innocent Americans who would tell the truth about it. The Democrat party is flat out evil, and yesterday they tried to murder President Trump." @mtgreenee

  • "Democrats and liberals in the media have called Trump a fascist. They've compared him to Hitler. They've tried to lock him up. They tried to remove his Secret Service protection. Just this week, @JoeBiden said he wanted to put Trump in the crosshairs. This isn't some unfortunate incident. This was an assassination attempt by a madman inspired by the rhetoric of the radical left." @ScottforFlorida
