Americans identify with President Donald Trump because they think he acts how they would act if they were a billionaire like him, former adviser Sebastian Gorka said Saturday.
"These salt of the Earth Americans look at that man and say: 'Yeah he's a billionaire; yeah, he's the most famous man in the world," Gorka said while at the Conservative Political Action Conference Saturday, reports The Hill. "'But you know what, if I had a billion dollars I'd be just like him. I’d be eating Big Macs on Air Force One just like he does.'"
The president's love of fast food has been well documented, including by former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and another aide, David Bossie, who wrote in their book "Let Trump be Trump" that there were "four major food groups" on Trump's private jet: "McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, pizza and Diet Coke."
Trump has also been known to send longtime aide Keith Schiller to McDonald's to make a burger run when he wasn't happy with what was being served by the White House's kitchen.
In his speech Saturday, Gorka praised Trump's political rise and first year, telling the audience that the president has the next seven years to continue his agenda. After that, he predicted, Vice President Mike Pence will continue for the next eight years, "because we need a minimum of 16 years to get back our Republic."
