Business leaders say President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet selections signal dramatic deregulation moves are ahead, The Wall Street Journal reports.

As Trump seeks to fill Cabinet posts with hardline critics of the agencies they will head, corporate executives are predicting the dismantling of regulations on everything from overtime pay to power-plant emissions, according to the newspaper.

The Journal notes fast-food executive Andrew Puzder, Trump's pick to lead the Labor Department, is a longtime critic of worker-pay policies.

And it points out Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, who was selected as Environmental Protection Agency chief, is the main architect of legal challenges to present government environmental regulations.

There are others nominated who are critical of regulations, including Rep. Tom Price (Department of Health and Human Services) and Wilbur Ross (Commerce Department), the Journal says.

Trump has been openly critical of regulations that hamper job growth.

"On regulations, we're going to eliminate every single regulation that hurts our farms, our workers and our small businesses," Trump said Thursday.

The New York Times notes that scores of regulations that have reshaped corporate American during the Obama administration are now vulnerable.

The newspaper says Trump is likely to push for cuts in regulations across the banking, health care and energy industries.
