Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., on Sunday said the next Senate Republican leader needs to work "hand in glove" with former President Donald Trump.
"I would like to see someone leading the Senate who is willing and able to work hand in glove with President Trump," Scott said on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures" when asked whom he'd like to see replace Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., when he steps down in November.
"We need a majority in the Senate that understands putting America first is working with President Trump," he said, making a call for tax cuts and law and order on the streets.
Republican Sens. John Thune of South Dakota and John Cornyn of Texas have announced that they are running for the leadership position, and Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky has hinted that he might be interested.
