Ted Cruz: Biden Hasn't Answered Questions About Son

Democrat nominee Joe Biden hasn't answered, or even been asked, questions about the New York Post's articles concerning emails allegedly found on his son Hunter's laptop, including about whether he took money from China, Sen. Ted Cruz said Wednesday. 

"ABC had Joe Biden on for a town hall the day after these stories broke," the Texas Republican said on Fox News' 'America's Newsroom." "They didn't ask a single question about whether he had received millions from communist China and what he had done in exchange for that. Apparently it couldn't get in the way of their political effort to try to defeat (President Donald) Trump and elect a Democrat president."

He also criticized the actions of Twitter and Facebook after both social media sites blocked two of the Post's articles on Hunter Biden from being shared. 

"This is the fight I've been in for a long time," said Cruz. "I think big tech poses the single largest threat to free speech and democracy in America. Their power keeps growing and growing and growing. I'm very glad to see the Department of Justice moving this week to bring an antitrust lawsuit against Google."

Whether or not one agrees with the politics of big tech companies, "who in their right mind would want a handful of Silicon Valley billionaires, American oligarchs, having total monopoly control over who is allowed to speak, what media is allowed to report, what stories you are allowed to write?" he continued. "It's dangerous and a threat to our freedom."

Cruz also commented on the upcoming confirmation vote for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett, noting that Democrats have nothing left to stop her. 

"The Judiciary Committee will confirm her tomorrow and then the full Senate will confirm her on Monday," said Cruz. "I think she impressed the American people and by day two you saw Democrats running for the hills."
