President Donald Trump sees special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into 2016 election meddling as something that "makes my base stronger," according to the new book by former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and deputy campaign manager David Bossie.
"I think it makes my base stronger," President Trump told Lewandowski and Bossie for their book "Trump's Enemies: How the Deep State is Undermining the Presidency," according to The Washington Post. "I would have never said this to you, but I think the level of love now is far greater than when we won."
President Trump then turned to Vice President Mike Pence during the Oval Office interview:
"I don't know, what do you think, Mike?"
"As strong or stronger," VP Pence said, according to the book, per the Post.
Lewandowski and Bossie's book is due to be released Tuesday and promises to counter many of the anti-President Trump books about negative White House palace intrigue.
Lewandowski and Bossie formerly worked for the Trump campaign but have since billed themselves as a loyalists from outside of the administration.
