A chant of "no more guns" broke out at a vigil honoring the victims of a deadly mass shooting at a South Florida high school.
Thousands reportedly attended the event Thursday night in Parkland, Florida, and at one point, a chant of "no more guns" erupted.
"We must hold other people's elected officials accountable. We must make sure that they hear us," Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, D-Fla., told the crowd, encouraging participants to hold elected officials accountable.
"We will help lead you to help other communities elect people who will do the right thing, who will make sure no one's families ever have to go through this again."
The vigil came the day after a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland in which 17 people were killed.
Former student Nikolas Cruz, 19, has been charged in the killings.
