About $271,000 was spent by the Republican National Committee at President Donald Trump's private businesses during February, The Washington Post is reporting.
The newspaper attributed its information to Federal Election Commission filings.
Most of the RNC's spending at Trump properties last month went for venue rental and catering at the Trump National Doral Miami resort and the Trump International Hotel in Washington. About $205,000 of the money was spent at the Florida resort.
The money spent at the two Trump properties made up 86 percent of the RNC's February expenses that were categorized as "venue rental and catering," the newspaper said.
The only other time the RNC spent money at the Florida resort during the 2017-2018 fundraising cycle was in December 2017, when it paid $3,000 for venue and catering, the Post said.
The RNC announced on Tuesday it would hold its May meeting at the Trump resort in Miami, The Hill said. GOP officials will begin planning for the 2020 convention at the meeting.
Meanwhile, the website noted Trump did not sell his businesses after being sworn in as president. Instead, he put them in a blind trust directed by his sons.
