The Republican National Committee raised almost twice as much money as the Democratic National Committee in June, marking yet another month the RNC surpassed the DNC's totals.
According to The Washington Post and records released Friday night by the Federal Elections Commission, RNC officials reported raising $14 million in June, compared to $8 million the Democrats raised. The new numbers put the RNC ahead by almost $100 million in total funds raised.
The DNC wrapped up June with $9 million in cash on hand and was $6.3 million in debt, compared to $50.7 million cash in hand for Republicans.
The RNC marked a record-high month for fundraising in May, bringing in more than $10 million while setting records for fundraising in an off-year election. The DNC, though, suffered its worst month in May.
This cycle, the RNC has raised a total of $201.7 million, compared to $105.8 million for the DNC.
The Post also noted that groups aligned with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell raked in $22.9 million overall in the second quarter of 2018, and are starting the third quarter with almost $44 million cash in hand.
In August, One Nation will have a $16 million ad blitz targeted at Missouri, Indiana, North Dakota, Nevada and Tennessee, all of which have been deemed key to keeping the Senate's GOP majority.
However, the Senate Majority PAC, which works to elect Senate Democrats, posted high totals beginning in the first quarter and had about $13 million more in the bank than its GOP counterpart, the Senate Leadership PAC, according to FEC records.
Blackstone chief executive and co-founder Stephen Schwarzman, a major donor to President Donald Trump, donated $5 million to the Republican group.
