The Republican National Committee has brought in more than $200 million for the midterm elections, and has reached that point the fastest it ever has in a midterm election cycle, CNN reported.
The RNC raised $13.9 million in June, the most it has raised during a non-presidential election year, which pushes its total to $213 million for the 2017-2018 election cycle, according to the news network, and the committee's numbers will be officially released in its filings Friday with the Federal Election Commission.
The amount far outweighs the Democratic National Committee's fundraising this cycle, which is at more than $101 million, CNN noted.
"What I see when I travel the country is that Americans continue to be enthusiastic about President (Donald) Trump and the Republican agenda… that enthusiasm has allowed for me to grow our war chest and invest it into what has become the biggest ground game in our Party's history," said RNC chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel.
Democratic Party Chairman Tom Perez said he was focusing more on strategic ways to use funds, telling CNN: "For me, the north star is not can we match them dollar for dollar. It is can we raise the money we need to execute our game plan."
The RNC raised $14.6 million in May, a record for that month in a non-presidential election year.
