The president of Planned Parenthood said in a new interview the Trump administration is awfully rough on women.
"This White House has been worse for women than any administration in my lifetime," Cecile Richards told People.
Richards said she's frustrated with male lawmakers who introduce and vote on legislation that concerns women.
"Until we have more people in office who can get pregnant, we will continue to have these fights," Richards said. "It is very frustrating to talk to members of Congress who will never need maternity benefits, never have to deal with an unintended pregnancy, or think about whether they can afford birth control. That's a problem."
President Donald Trump signed a bill earlier this year that gave states the power to withhold federal funding to organizations that provide abortions, including Planned Parenthood.
Trump and Republicans also have threatened to erase all federal funding to Planned Parenthood unless it stops providing abortions.
