Pataki Considers Running for President

More evidence is emerging that former New York Republican Gov. George Pataki may run for president. He has quit as chairman of Revere America, his anti-healthcare reform group that raised and spent about $2.6 million on crucial congressional races last year, Politico reports.

The move comes right after a Florida judge struck down Obamacare as unconstitutional. “This is an excellent time for me to step down, based on my other commitments and the fact that Revere America has been successfully launched,” Pataki says in a statement.

Pataki considered running for president in 2000 and 2008 but ultimately passed. “He’s taking a look at it” this time around, Pataki’s spokesman David Catalfamo tells Politico. “But regardless of what he ultimately decides, he plans on being involved in the national dialogue.”
