Former "Apprentice" star and Donald Trump's African-American outreach director Omarosa Manigault says Trump asked her Tuesday night if she is ready to follow him to Washington, but said the president-elect has not offered her a specific job.
Asked by The Hollywood Reporter what she thought of Trump's acceptance speech, Manigault said she was so caught up in the moment she had to re-watch it later.
"I was literally just standing next to him on the stage and just bawling," she said. "I don't remember a word he said. We were live on air. I just remember Mr. Trump saying to me, 'Are you ready? Are you ready to come with me to Washington?!'
But, she added, "There was no discussion of titles or positions or appointments."
As for her recent comments that Trump would have an enemies list of Republicans who did not support him, Manigault said that mostly referred to South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, who broke his pledge to support Trump after Graham dropped out of the presidential race himself. Graham also announced he had voted for independent candidate Evan McMullin, "Just throwing it in Mr. Trump's face. Pretty brazen. You don't forget that."
She also said journalists have no need to fear a loss of their First Amendment rights even though Trump banned news organizations, including The Washington Post, from his events over negative coverage.
"If they're lying, they can't come to private events," Manigault said. "They can cover public events all they like."
