Two crucial races in North Carolina are coming down to the wire, according to the results of a new Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday.
The survey asked voters to weigh in on the Senate race between Republican incumbent Richard Burr and Democratic challenger Deborah Ross, and the gubernatorial election between Republican Gov. Pat McCrory and Democrat Roy Cooper.
The results:
- Ross leads Burr, 49 percent to 45 percent.
- Cooper leads McCrory, 49 percent to 47 percent.
Both leads are within the 4-point margin of error.
Republicans currently have a four-seat majority in the Senate and are fighting hard to stay in control after Tuesday's election.
McCrory has come under fire from Democratic groups after he passed a controversial bill earlier this year that deals with transgender people's use of public bathrooms and locker rooms.
