Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., praised President Donald Trump for securing a second meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
A short time after the White House confirmed Trump and Kim will meet near the end of February to continue the discussion around denuclearizing the Korean peninsula, Graham weighed in on Twitter.
"Great news that there will be a second summit with President @realDonaldTrump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un," Graham wrote. "President Trump deserves great credit for getting us to this point."
He continued: "While we have a long way to go, I'm hopeful that the engagement started by President Trump can finally end the North Korean problem in a win-win fashion."
Graham closed his statement with this tweet: "I appreciate the Trump Administration's hard work. I hope it leads to a lasting and meaningful peace for the Korean peninsula and the world."
Trump and Kim met in Singapore last June, after which Trump said North Korea was ready to halt its nuclear weapons program.
