Kid Rock can't stand former Sen. Al Franken's politics, but the rocker said it was "ridiculous" that the Minnesota Democrat was forced to resign over a "joke," Fox News reports.

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, made the comments during a CMT interview, Fox News reports.

"I don't like anything about Al Franken or his politics," Kid Rock told CMT. "But I'd say that's ridiculous. He's a comedian, he's making a joke."

Ritchie was referencing the infamous photo released by former Playboy model and radio host Leeann Tweeden, showing Franken pretending to grab her breasts while she slept on an airplane in 2006.

"I don't think the guy should have resigned over that. As much as I'm glad that he did, politically speaking, I think it was wrong," Kid Rock told CMT, adding that he knows Tweeden from the same USO tours that she did with Franken.

Tweeden also accused Franken of unwanted kissing and groping during USO appearances, years before Franken would become a senator.
