Joe Scarborough: 'I'm Beginning to Sound Like a Democrat'

MSNBC "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough, a former Republican Congressman from Florida, says he is starting to feel like a Democrat.

"I'm not [a Democrat]," Scarborough said Tuesday on his MSNBC show. "But God knows I'm sounding more like one every morning."

Scarborough, who with co-host Mika Brzezinski routinely bashes President Donald Trump, said Democrats should not allow Republicans to claim they won the shutdown showdown. Instead, he said, they should hammer home the point Democrats were the ones who saved funding for the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

"You're telling me that a three-day shutdown wasn't worth guaranteeing healthcare for millions and millions of the truly disadvantaged children?" Scarborough opined. "That's a win for Democrats if they know how to spin it the right way."

His comments came a day after a rant Monday's show in which he blamed Trump for the shutdown and said the president's own staffers treat him like "he's just a fool, like he's a stupid old blubbery man."
