Rep. Joe Kennedy III D-Mass., said it is too early to decide whether President Donald Trump should be impeached.
Kennedy's comments came during an interview on "The Takeout" podcast, hosted by CBS News chief White House correspondent Major Garrett and political director Steve Chaggaris.
He was asked if he would support a call by billionaire Tom Steyer for Trump's impeachment.
"Do I think (Trump is) a clear and present danger to the American public?" Kennedy said. "I do not believe that the values, vision and policies put forward by this administration are reflective of the best that America has to offer and will take us in a good direction.
"I have strong concerns with the way he's doing it. Does he pose a clear and present danger to the United States? I'm not sure I'd go there yet.
"When you start talking about the impeachment — the early removal of power to the president of the United States — it behooves the American public or our government — to make sure that this isn't something that will be taken lightly. You want to have the process play out before you call somebody guilty or innocent."
Kennedy, whose great uncle was President John F. Kennedy, said earlier in the week he wished Trump would have notified his family that he authorized the release of JFK assassination documents, WCVB-TV reported.
"It would've been nice if there was communication between this administration and members of my family," Kennedy said.
