Jeb Bush threw some love in the direction of President Donald Trump, tweeting that he was "encouraged" by the president's "bill of love" for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients.
Trump summoned 20 bipartisan lawmakers to the White House on Tuesday in an attempt to hammer out a pact on immigration in advance of next week's stopgap spending deadline.
Trump's endorsement of a two-phased approach — DACA first, immigration reform later — has rankled conservatives and perked up Democrats and supporters of "Dreamers," like Bush, a former presidential candidate and ex-governor of Florida.
Bush once called illegals bringing their children to the U.S. an "act of love," which drew the ridicule of Trump.
