EXETER, N.H. — Republican presidential contender Jon Huntsman will outline sweeping tax changes and new free trade agreements Wednesday as ways to create jobs.
The former Utah governor will become the first active Republican presidential candidate to offer a detailed job-creation blueprint. He will release the details during a speech at Gilchrist Metal Fabrication in Hudson, N.H.
The Huntsman campaign hopes the move will improve his standing with Republican primary voters. He earned just 1 percent in a national CNN poll released earlier in the week.
An adviser says Huntsman will focus on long-term job growth and bold changes to create a simpler tax system.
