Benson: Keep Up the Fight Against Obamacare

Former Florida State Rep. Holly Benson, one of three Republican candidates in tomorrow’s primary for attorney general, says repealing Obamacare would be job one for her if elected.

  • “The most important issue is continuing the lawsuit against Obamacare,” Benson told Newsmax.TV. The new healthcare law is unconstitutional, violating the constitution’s commerce clause by requiring people to buy health insurance, and violating the 10th Amendment by infringing upon states rights, Benson says. “I’ll continue the fight all the way to the Supreme Court,” she said.
  • Benson supports the strong immigration law proposed by current Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum and State Rep. William Snyder. “If the federal government isn’t going to enforce immigration policy, then the state must step up and do it,” she said.
  • Reviving Florida’s state economy, which has 11 percent unemployment, also is important, Benson says. “I would create a regulatory strike force to eliminate unnecessary regulation that stifles entrepreneurs.”
  • Tort reform is big on her agenda too. “We must stop frivolous lawsuits that are clogging our courts and costing businesses millions,” Benson said.
  • She is very appreciative of receiving an endorsement from ex-U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich. “He’s a true conservative with a long record of building the Republican
