President Donald Trump performed admirably during his Las Vegas visit with victims and first responders Wednesday after a shooting rampage, compared to his missteps in Puerto Rico a day earlier, according to a new report.
As CNN noted, Trump's time spent in Las Vegas just days after Sunday night's mass shooting that resulted in 59 deaths and more than 500 injuries when a lone gunman opened fire on a concert crowd from a hotel room showed his kind and compassionate side. He met with victims in a hospital, shook hands with first responders, and spoke about healing in the wake of the tragedy.
That was in contrast to Trump's appearance in Puerto Rico Tuesday after the U.S. territory in the Caribbean Sea was leveled by Hurricane Maria last month. He seemed to be on the defense at times after his administration was criticized for its response to the storm. At one point, the entire island was without power.
Trump's public spat with the mayor of San Juan created another plot line to the story.

In a follow-up tweet to his Puerto Rico visit, he referenced fake news stories about the White House's response to the natural and humanitarian disaster.
Trump has taken on the role of "consoler-in-chief" over the last month or so. Three major hurricanes hit the U.S. and its island territories, causing massive flooding, power outages, damages, and deaths. Sunday's shooting in Las Vegas was another incident that required Trump's presence.
