Donald Trump Jr. on Monday is hosting a New York City fundraiser for West Virginia Republican Patrick Morrisey, the state’s attorney general who is challenging Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin in the upcoming midterm elections, Roll Call reports.
The Hill reports that former Trump campaign spokesman Jason Miller and former White House press secretary Sean Spicer will also be in attendance.
Manchin holds a seven point lead over Morrisey according to Real Clear Politics, and is one of 10 Senate Democrats up for re-election this year in a state President Donald Trump won in the 2016 presidential election.
The fundraiser will help Morrisey retire debt left from the May primary election. The AG trails Manchin in campaign funds as Manchin’s campaign announced earlier this month that it raised $1.5 million in the second quarter with $6.2 million cash in hand compared to the Morrisey campaign’s $1.3 million in raised funds with $895,000 cash on hand.
