President Donald Trump's 17-day trip to Bedminster, New Jersey last August, which was billed as a "working vacation," cost taxpayers at least $185,000, according to USA Today.
According to internal documents from the Secret Service and the Air Force, Trump's trip cost $118,355.60 on flights, $46,188.56 on Secret Service hotel fees, $13,600 in golf cart rentals for the Secret Service, and $7,100 on Secret Service luxury portable bathrooms.
In total, the president took six flights on Boeing C-32s, which are usually used by the vice president and for official travel. The newspaper notes that the most expensive plane trip came when Trump flew to Camp David for a military strategy meeting on Aug. 18, before flying back to Bedminster at a cost of $36,786.20. The Air Force declined to comment to USA Today.
Thirty-eight Secret Service agents spent one to 16 days at a Courtyard Marriott location, rotating to cover the president during his stay, at a cost of about $1,776 per night. The Office of the Secret Service did not respond to requests for comment.
