President Donald Trump on Friday lashed out at Democrats and the nation's court system, saying they are obstructing the nation's safety against "radical Islamic terrorism."
In two back-to-back tweets, the commander in chief said:
The tweets appear to be a reaction to Thursday's horrific terror attacks in Barcelona, Spain, in which 14 people were killed when a speeding van plowed down a busy, pedestrian-filled street.
Trump has been warring with the nation's courts, which have continually thwarted full implementation of his strict immigration platform.
Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court dealt a blow to Trump's travel ban Wednesday, rejecting his bid to bar entry by some people with family members already in the country.
Trump also has been on a tweet storm this week over last Saturday's deadly white supremacy rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
On Thursday, Trump sparked a furor by lamenting the removal of "our beautiful statues and monuments," referring to the decision by municipalities across the county to pull down Confederate monuments, which are linked to slavery.
