Democratic House minority members on Wednesday decried a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for providing what they said was insufficient detailed information on the effects of the flu-like COVID-19 on non-whites.

The four-page report, which was mandated as part of the Paycheck Protection Program – a small business loan program – that was part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act signed into law in April, was made public on May 19.

The report included an introduction, overview and a series of hyperlinks to CDC web pages with various data points. But the Democrats were infuriated that it did not include “disaggregated,” or separated, demographic information to their satisfaction.

"When we have a congressional mandate, and then they provide us with an insulting cut and paste hyperlink report – with antiquated hyperlinks at that – it is, it's infuriating," said Rep. Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts in a conference call with reporters.

The CDC did not respond a request for comment from TheHill.com.

Rep. Robin Kelly of Illinois called the report "unacceptable and pitiful" and criticize CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield.

“They sent us a series of links, no analysis, no data, no value added, and I can't believe the director was really proud to sign his name to this report, because Congress and the American people definitely deserve to know the facts and have quality analysis," Kelly said.
