Actors Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are part of a group of Hollywood stars and executives who will host a fundraiser for Democratic New Jersey Senate candidate Cory Booker Sept. 23.
The event will be held at the California house of billionaire Democratic donor Ron Burkle, according to
The Hollywood Reporter. Tickets will range from $1,000 to $10,000.
Other hosts include actress Jennifer Garner, movie producer Jerry Weintraub, TV producer J.J. Abrams, former Disney CEO Michael Eisner, and former U.S. Ambassador Nicole Avant.
This will be the entertainment industry's second fundraiser for Booker. The first, held at Weintraub's home in April, netted Booker an estimated $500,000, according to The Reporter.
Booker is heavily favored to beat Republican candidate Steve Lonegan in the Oct. 16 election. The Democrat led 54 to 38 percent over his GOP foe among likely voters in a
Monmouth University/Asbury Park Press poll conducted Aug. 15-18.
Booker is flush with cash, holding more than $4 million as of Aug. 1, according to
The Hill.
