Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, has gotten a doctor's clearance to return to the Capitol after having to quarantine due to contracting the coronavirus earlier this month.
"While I continued working from home during my quarantine, I'm glad to be back in the office working for Iowans," Grassley, 87, said in a statement on Monday, according to The Hill.
"I did not experience symptoms, but more than a thousand Americans are dying every day and many more are hospitalized," he continued. "That means we all have to do our part to help protect our friends, family and fellow Americans. I will continue to wear a mask and practice social distancing."
Grassley is one of seven senators to test positive for the coronavirus. The others are Sens. Rick Scott, R-Fla., Ron Johnson, R-Wis., Mike Lee, R-Utah, Thom Tillis, R-N.C., Bill Cassidy, R-La., and Rand Paul, R-Ky.
Scott, who tested positive for the virus at about the same time as Grassley, will also be back in the Capitol on Monday.
