CNN Poll: McSally, Sinema Almost Even in Arizona Senate Race

The Arizona Senate race between Republican Martha McSally and Democrat Kyrsten Sinema is nearly even in the final days of the race.

Both candidates currently serve in the House but are vying for the Senate seat that will be left open by the departing Sen. Jeff Flake. Results from a new CNN poll released Wednesday:

• Sinema has 51 percent support and McSally has 47 percent support, but the margin of error is +/- 4.4 percentage points. In September, Sinema led by 7 points in another CNN poll.
•  McSally picked up more support from women and now has 41 percent backing from the demographic, still lower than Sinema's 56 percent — a figure that remained roughly unchanged from September.
• Both candidates have more support from independents than they did in September, with Sinema leading 52 percent to 44 percent among these voters.

The RealClear Politics polling average gives Sinema a one-point lead among major polls heading into next Tuesday's midterm election.
