A super PAC that stands against Donald Trump raised more than $8 million in March and spent more than $11 million in efforts to stop the real estate mogul's political rise.
Our Principles PAC,
according to Politico, brought in $8.4 million in donations last month — which included $2 million from Uline founder Richard Uihlein and $1.7 million from investor Michael Vlock.
Katie Packer, a former top aide to Mitt Romney during his 2012 presidential campaign, started the PAC. Working with her is Tim Miller, a former spokesman for Jeb Bush.
The PAC has spent north of $14 million attacking Trump, the leading Republican candidate for president, since it launched in January. The group's furious spending in March ($11.2 million) left it with $423,922 in its bank account.
Trump's polarizing rise to the top of the GOP race has irked many in the establishment, and
if he falls short of 1,237 delegate votes he may not win the presidential nomination despite his lead.
Trump
picked up an additional 89 delegate votes in Tuesday's New York primary and now has 845. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has 559 and Ohio Gov. John Kasich has 147.
