Now that China and the United States have struck a Phase I deal suspending the trade war, analysts are tryng to determine which country has gained the upper hand.
The deal's broad outlines call for the Trump administration to hold off on imposing an additional 15 percent tariff on about $160 billion in Chinese goods that would have taken effect this month. In return, China has promised to increase purchases of U.S. agricultural products, and to stop forcing companies to turn over their technology secrets in order to gain access to Chinese consumers.
