The American left's howls about an "illegal" war and higher oil prices likely mean little to Iranians who, for nearly 50 years, have toiled under a theocratic regime.

In particular, Iranian women, who despite a brief respite from what is commonly described as gender apartheid since 1979 have for decades been at the forefront of fighting for women’s rights, with little support from Western feminists, including in the United States.
